Absence Due to Illness
We follow the Public Health Agency Guidelines to manage and control infectious diseases in school.
Diarrhoea and Vomiting To help prevent the spread of diarrhoea and vomiting within school all children should remain at home until 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.
Chicken Pox Children with chicken pox should be kept away from school until all blisters have crusted over.
Impetigo Children with impetigo should be excluded from school until the skin has healed or until 48 hours after antibiotic treatment has begun.
Head lice Children with head lice do not need to be excluded from school but they should be treated as soon as possible to minimise transmission to others.
