Headteacher's Welcome

It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying the Summer Fair with your children last week. It really was such a lovely family event enjoyed by all! HUGE THANKS to all the PTA and staff volunteers who made the event possible.

On Tuesday, the Choir impressed their audiences with a brilliant performance of Peter Pan! They were absolutely brilliant, remembering so many words, singing in two parts, narrating clearly and doing it with a smile.

Well Done Choir - you were AMAZING!!!!

A special well done to our Y2 members, many of whom have been in Choir from the beginning of Y1. You have shown such commitment and hard work. Well done - I hope you will continue to sing at Junior School!

Y2 Sports Events

Some of our Y2 children have recently had the opportunity to take part in some sporting events with other schools. On 13th June a group of Y2 children went to Lydgate Junior School for a multi sports event with other local schools and on Wednesday this week another group went up to King Edwards for an event led by their sports leaders. The children had a super time at both events and represented the school brilliantly. Well done to those who took part!

Craft Request for After School Club

Hello Nether Green Families!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome you have all given me in my first two weeks.

We have introduced a craft trolley this week which has proved to be very popular. It would be wonderful if you have any of the following items that you would like to donate to us for crafts:

  • Old comic books/colouring books/children’s magazines/activity books
  • Paper straws
  • Lolly sticks/wooden drinks stirrers
  • Kitchen roll middles or other cardboard tubes
  • Old birthday cards
  • Bits of fabric or wool
  • Bobbins or bottle tops
  • Any other interesting scraps which you think might be useful

I would love to be able to use as much recyclable materials as possible, thank you in advance for any donations you can spare.

Many thanks Abigail Staniforth

Thanks again for your support at last Friday’s Summer Fair – we raised just over £3,000 which is amazing (and for those that are competitive, a little more than last year!)! Over the summer holidays, please do support all the brilliant local businesses that made the day possible.

They are (we really hope we haven’t forgotten anyone):

Atkinsons, B&P Wholesale, Bear & Babe, Beyond Beauty, Blue Moo Café, Bonjour Sheffield, Brook Coffee Rooms, Buckleys Hair, Button & Bar, Chatsworth House, Cycle Pro, DS Taekwondo, Eastfield Farm, Ellies Sandwich Shop, Eurosafe UK, Firs Farm Shop, Fit4Physio, Fulwood Coop, Fulwood Hardware, Fulwood Lawn Tennis Club, Hallamshire Golf Course, Hallamshire Squash & Tennis, Hangram Farm, Hudson’s Kitchen, Jam Hairdressers, Joe and Dough, Kate Campbell Fitness, Kids Love Yoga Camp, Lembas, MediSpa, Music Bugs, NG Botanic, Nue Café, Pandyland, Papaciccio's, Party Parlour, Peppermint Salon, Physiotherapy Sheffield and Sports Injury Clinic, Piper’s Artisan Sausages, Planet Pot, S10 Aesthetics, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, Starmore Boss, Tenaya Wine Bar, The Beauty Clinic, The Butcher's Shop at Underwoods, The Eye Place, The Psalter, The Rising Sun, The Steel Cauldron, The Woodland Coffee Shop, Thornbridge Brewery, Utilita Arena, Valencia Tapas, Wyming Brook Reflexology, Cannon Hall Farm, Matlock Farm Park and the Treehouse Board Game Cafe.

We’ve contacted everyone who’s won a raffle prize and not yet collected it from the School Office – we hope you enjoy these!

We now have a nice little pot to fund some new projects to help make NGIS even more amazing!

As always, thanks for your continued support and contributions.
