Headteacher's Welcome

It has been another busy week in school! It was lovely to invite prospective parents in to visit our school on Tuesday. The Choir performed a few songs and then the School Council introduced our school values and talked about what they liked best about our school. Parents then had the opportunity to explore the school - I was very proud of all the children and there were many comments about how polite and well behaved all of the children had been.

On Monday, the Y1 & Y2 children visited the Fulwood War Memorial to mark Remembrance Day and bring their learning about this to life. Once again the children were so sensible - we were all very proud of them. Well done!

We look forward to welcoming parents into school next Tuesday and Thursday for our Parent Evening Meetings. Children's books will be displayed in the hall for you to look at before your appointments. Please arrive via the main entrance.  After School Club will be based in Turtles classroom. Please remember there are no extra-curricular clubs on these days; (no Yoga, Football, Choir or Forest School)

Next week is also the Sheffield Skipathon Week. We will be joining lots of other schools in taking part in this fun, energetic event! Children are welcome to bring a skipping rope to school every day next week to use in the playground at playtime and lunchtime.

Road Safety Week
Next week is Brake Road Safety Week, and the children will be doing various road safety activities in school. In particular we will be focusing on making our school's road a safer place for us all.
Look out for our new Road Safety Officers, who are part of our School Council, who will be encouraging us all to use our roads safely.

Help us make life lighter for children

Right now we are only able to fund 1 in 8 organisations who ask us for help.

Children across the UK are facing greater challenges than ever, with mental health conditions such as anxiety & depression rising, high levels of poverty leading to inequality & lack of opportunity.

Many children are simply carrying a load that’s too heavy to manage alone, so this year, we are asking you to help make life lighter for children.

This half-term is a busy one so grab the calendar!

Fri 29th Nov Autumn Fair 3:30 – 4:30pm in the school hall.

Bakes, uniform and Elfridges store for the kids to buy gifts for their loved ones. This event is open to families joining the school in September 2025, so spread the word. We need your support to make this a success:

  •  Bake or buy for our cake sale. Please remember we are a nut free school. Cakes can be brought to the office from 8.30am on the Friday morning.
  • Donate any outgrown school uniform or Christmas jumpers, pyjamas, etc. for sale.
  • Stock the Elfridges store! We need lots of kind donations of unwanted gifts in new or like new condition so that the children can purchase gifts for their loved ones – there will be a box outside school over the next few weeks to collect these.
  • Help us staff the fair! Get in touch via the PTA WhatsApp if you could contribute your time to this event.

Active Homework

We are very proud of how fit and healthy all of our children are. We know that lots of them are really active out of school, playing a range of sports alongside living healthy active lives by cycling, scooting and walking lots too.

Because we know how active our children like to be we thought it would be good to share some fun ideas with you. Each week we will put a new active home learning activity on our News Page for your child to try at home. If you would like to send in a photo of your child carrying out the activity we will add them to our active gallery on our PE page.

This week's activity is...

Active Alphabet Game

Take it in turns to shout out a letter of the alphabet, working from A-Z in order. Each time a player says a letter, they think of a movement/action that begins with that letter. For example A - move around like an Ant (make yourself small, crawl on all fours, and scurry quickly around the space you have).
