Weekly News Page Friday 6th June 2025 |
Headteacher's Welcome I hope you all had a lovely time during half term and managed some quality family time together. The children have been full of news about where they've been and all the exciting things they have got up to during the break. We are really sad today to say goodbye to Miss Furniss (Rebecca) who has been a valued member of our team for almost 4 years. I know she will be hugely missed by the children, staff and our parent community. Throughout her time here, many parents have commented on how much their children love her and have recognised how committed she has been to our children. As she moves away from Sheffield we wish her the best of luck in her new home with her gorgeous new puppies! We are pleased to share the news that we have appointed a new lead for ASC. Mrs Abigail Staniforth will be starting on Monday. She has been in ASC on Wednesday and Thursday this week to start to get to know the children and staff. She brings with her a wealth of childcare experience in early years and we are confident she will settle quickly into the role. She will also be working at lunchtimes and for part of the school day so the children will quickly become familiar with her.
Koalas, Bears and Butterflies classes had a fantastic trip to the Butterfly House on Wednesday. The weather was kind to them and it was reported that they were all very well behaved and loved the trip (especially the bus ride and packed lunch of course!) It's a very busy term - please make sure you have checked the calendar for key dates to avoid missing any of the lovely things we have planned for the children. |
Well done everyone!!!

Have you seen our new Bike Barn?
Huge thanks to Mrs Scott who put in a successful bid for our new Bike Barn which was installed during half term. Mrs Hawkins talked to the children in assembly on Monday and reminded them it is a great way to store bikes and scooters so they can come to school in an active way. We also reminded the children that they are not allowed to go into the barn during playtime or After School Club and definitely must not touch anyone else's bikes or scooters.

We hope you all had a lovely half term. Thank you to those whose Bank Holiday sale shopping has contributed to our easyfundraising total - £540 raised so far!
Many thanks to those that have already volunteered to help at the Summer Fair on Friday 20th June. The volunteer board will be up outside school from next week – the number of volunteers we get is crucial to the running of all of the stalls and activities, so please help out if you can. We’re also looking for kind donations of the following:
There will be a donations box outside school over the next few weeks, or alternatively please leave with the lovely Office Team.
Lots of amazing raffle prizes have been donated this year – including rounds of golf, concert tickets, restaurant vouchers, beauty treatments, brewery tours, etc. To have a chance at winning, please make sure to get your raffle tickets! These went out in book bags but more are available from the Office Team who are kindly collecting the cash and tickets.
We’re looking forward to what we hope will be another brilliant Summer Fair for everyone to enjoy! And keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed for dry weather!!
Thank you for your continued support! The PTA Team
