Starting Reception In

September 2027?

Come and visit our school!

Choosing your child's first school is an important decision, and we would  love to welcome you to Nether Green Infant School. Our Open Events are a chance to look around our school, meet our team and discover what life is like at Nether Green.

If you would like to attend one of our Open Events, please book a place by contacting  the school office on 0114 2304094 or by email enquiries@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk 

Thursday 15^th October 2026 - 5:30pm - 7:00pm

This visit is for parents only. 

Mrs Hawkins, our Headteacher, will give a 20 minute introductory talk in the school hall starting at 5.30pm, followed by an opportunity to look around the classrooms and chat with members of staff. 

Tuesday 10^th November 2026 - 9:30am - 10:30am

Children are welcome to attend with their parents. 

Mrs Hawkins will give the same talk in the hall at 9.30am, followed by an opportunity  to visit the classrooms and see them in operation during the school day. 

If you are unable to attend either of these dates, there will be an informal group tour of the school on Tuesday 1^st December at 9.15am. Please speak to the school office to check spaces.

Admission into Reception 

All children are entitled to a full time school place in the September following their 4th birthday, which is when most children start school. There are 60 places (PAN) in our Reception year group. 

If your child is due to start Reception in September 2027, you will need to apply for a school place via Sheffield CIty Council. 

Important Dates 

Applications open: September 2026.

Application deadline: 15th January 2027.

National allocation date:  16th April 2027. 

We recommend visiting schools you are considering before submitting your application, so you can choose the school that you feel is right for your child.
