Headteacher's Welcome I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend with your families. The children have been enjoying playing in our recently developed Woodland Area which is looking fantastic. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported the PTA fundraising over the past year - your generosity really is making a difference to the daily experiences of our children.
Well done to our Y2 children who performed their dances this week to parents and carers. They were all amazing! It was great to see such joy and enthusiasm for dance from the children. Penguins class were also lucky enough to perform their dance in front of a full audience at the Octagon this week as part of the annual Arches Dance Festival. Well done Y2 - We are very proud of all of you! It is that time of year already when we start to think about transition in school. We have already met with Nether Green Junior School to discuss plans for the Y2 children for the summer term to prepare them for their move. We will share details of these as soon as they have been finalised. We have also started to talk about transition plans within school for Reception and Y1 children. In preparation for moving into Y1 we would like to start to encourage our Reception children to come into school independently and to say goodbye to their grown ups at the gate. There is no immediate pressure to do this, however we tend to find that most children love the opportunity to show how grown up they are and by getting them into this routine this side of the summer holidays it makes them all the more confident going into Year 1. Some of the Foundation Stage staff will be at the gate next week if your child needs a little extra encouragement. |
Exciting Preschool News! Thank you so much to everyone who has shared feedback about our Preschool proposals. We are busy planning and hoping to open in January 2026. If you would like to express an interest for a place in our Preschool, which will take children from age 3, please read the attached letter and respond to our survey here. There are a few short questions for all parents and an 'Expression of Interest' section at the end for any parents who may be interested in a place in the future for children currently under the age of 4. Please spread the word far and wide with friends and family and invite them to complete the survey or get in touch with us if they have any further questions.

Active Homework
This term will be traditional games...
Simon saysOne person to be Simon and have the other players gather around. Simon gives commands to the other players by saying “Simon says…” and picking an action. For example, “Simon says hop up and down” or “Simon says clap your hands” or “Simon says quack like a duck.” If Simon gives a command without starting with “Simon says,” any player that does the action is out! |
