Headteacher's Welcome It has certainly felt very wintry this week! The children in Reception have been enjoying the story of Stick Man and I was very happy to be presented with my very own 'Stick Man' which has been made by some of the children in Koalas!
Amazon Wishlist Many of you will be aware of the funding challenges faced by schools and due to a number of circumstances this is a particular concern for our school. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity already shown this week after the PTA shared the school's 'Wishlist' with parents and would like to say a huge thank you to those of you who have donated resources to school. The plan is to keep this live throughout the year so that parents are able to donate as and when they feel able to. Thank you to the PTA for initiating this for us. Thank you so much - these resources really will make a difference to our children. The link is here if you wish to donate. |
Tonight is the PTA Movie Night! We love the fact that so many children are joining us to watch Arthur Christmas together and we hope it's a great start to the festive season. Please read the drop off / pick up information shared by Mrs Hawkins to help ensure a safe and smooth evening for all. LETTER with INFO
We're also preparing for Santa to pay the school a visit in the last week of term. Please sign up and pay via ParentPay if you'd like your child to take part. They will get to meet him in small groups and will each get a small gift to bring home.
You may have seen this Amazon Wishlist circulating on class WhatsApp groups. As we said, there is absolutely no expectation, but for those that are able, providing essential resources will make a big difference to the staff and our children. Thank you so much to all those who have already donated. It is hugely appreciated.
And finally, another little reminder of the other easy ways you can help:

Notes from the Teachers Learning this half term...
Foundation Stage The topic for this half term in Reception will be Celebrations: Reception Overview - Celebrations The Weekly Newsletter is available on the school website by following this link: Reception Weekly Newsletter Messages for Teachers We know for parents there can be quick questions you want to ask teachers, or things you want to mention and that once children get into Year 1 & 2 there are fewer opportunities to do this. We are happy for you to email class teachers but know that sometimes a quick face to face conversation can be easier - teachers are more than happy to have a quick chat once they have handed children over safely to parents at the end of the school day. The class email is the name of the class as follows e.g. bears@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk, etc |
