Nether Green Infant School

Weekly News Page

Thursday 23rd May 2024

It has been a busy half term in school which seems to have flown by. We were really disappointed with the weather this week which put a stop to some of our our sports events which we hope to reschedule for next half term. It was such a shame as the children had worked so hard to practise and develop their skills. Hopefully they will get to share their talents with you next term!

The Sensory Sports activities were able to go ahead on Monday - the children had a lovely time!

We hope that the weather will improve next week so that you can enjoy some quality family time over the half term holiday - have a lovely break whatever you are planning!

Reception Sports Afternoon - rescheduled to Thursday 13th June at 2:00pm.

Y1 & Y2 Sports Morning at Hallam - Date TBC.

Annual Parent Survey

Thank you to those of you who have already completed the Parent Survey - this forms a really valuable part of our self-evaluation and school development process. The link was emailed out last week and will stay live until the end of the half term break.

Clubs Next Half Term

There are a small number of places left in Yoga, Rugbytots, Fablab, Street Dance and Art.

Click here  more details about the clubs and costs.

Happy half term everyone! Attached is a more detailed PTA newsletter which provides info on our activities and fundraising to date this year. Would love it if you could take 5 mins to read (especially as we need more people to help out next year). Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks to everyone for joining in today! Rain may have stopped sports day but the kids all looked fab in their sports gear this morning!

FRIDAY 31st MAY : Y2 parents - this week is your last chance to pop onto ParentPay to provide permission for the leavers book - without it, we won’t be able to feature your child.

FRIDAY 21st JUNE : PTA SUMMER CARNIVAL

Please pop the date in your diaries for family fun!

We’ll be sharing all the details (and the volunteer board) straight after half term but for for anyone who wants to get ahead over the break, heads up we’d love donations of all or any of the following:

- Treasure jars - jam jars of little fun bits and pieces (sweets, bubbles, stickers, crafts bit etc - leftover party bag stuff is perfect!)

- Bottles - adult tombola

- Duplicate or not needed gifts / games etc - kids tombola

Thanks so much and have a wonderful half term.

Please email nethergreeninfantschoolpta@gmail.com Thank you so so much!

Notes from the Teachers

Reception - Morning Drop Off

Well done Reception children - you have been so grown up and brave coming in by yourselves in the mornings this week!

September 2024

The summer term is always a busy one and we are already starting to look ahead to September. Teachers will soon be thinking about organising classes for September. We find it to be a really positive opportunity for the children to make new friends and build relationships with others in school. We don't ask parents to nominate friends for their new classes as we know that by this time in the year the teachers have a really good idea of how well the children work together and who they spend most of their social time with. We do though, invite parents to share any significant information that you would like us to take into consideration when organising classes.

If you do have anything you would like us to know please email your child's class teacher.
