Nether Green Infant School

Weekly News Page

Friday 17th May 2024

We have had a super week in school again. Despite the wet weather on Tuesday the Reception children had a wonderful day at the Butterfly House. They were full of excitement when they returned to school! Alongside the beautiful butterflies they enjoyed seeing lots of other animals, playing in the playground and, of course, the ever favourite bus journey and packed lunch!

The children had a fabulous time at the disco - they danced their socks off. It was so much fun! Huge thanks to the PTA for organising another fabulous event for our children to enjoy!

Annual Parent Survey

We will be sending out a link to our annual parent survey. Feedback from parents is a valuable tool in supporting our self-evaluation and school improvement process.
There are a series questions, please tick the box that best fits your view of the past year in school for your child. Your answers are confidential; a summary of parents' views will be shared with staff, governors, parents and carers and support further improvements of our school.

The questions are grouped in sections and at the end of each section there is an opportunity to add any further comments if you wish; these comments are particularly useful for us to understand your views, know what's going well and make improvements.

Please look our for the email with the link.

Clubs Next Half Term

  • Booking goes live at 7:00pm on Tuesday 21st May
  • There is one new club - Rugby which replaces Multi Skills on Tuesdays
  • Children attending Choir have already booked on for next term - sessions will run weekly until the concert on 25th June; there will be no further sessions after this.
  • It is not possible to refund parents once clubs are booked so please talk to your child about which clubs they would like to do ahead of booking.

Click here  more details about the clubs and costs.

NEXT THURSDAY 23rd MAY (last day of this half term!) is DRESS AS YOU PLEASE DAY - SPORTS THEME!

Notes from the Teachers

Reception - Morning Drop Off

Well done Reception children - you have been so grown up and brave coming in by yourselves in the mornings this week!

September 2024

The summer term is always a busy one and we are already starting to look ahead to September. Teachers will soon be thinking about organising classes for September. We find it to be a really positive opportunity for the children to make new friends and build relationships with others in school. We don't ask parents to nominate friends for their new classes as we know that by this time in the year the teachers have a really good idea of how well the children work together and who they spend most of their social time with. We do though, invite parents to share any significant information that you would like us to take into consideration when organising classes.

If you do have anything you would like us to know please email your child's class teacher.
