Nether Green Infant School

Covid Updates - 2021

Thursday 4th March

School is opening to all children on Monday 8th March. Please read this detailed letter about the arrangements.  Parent Letter

Monday 8th February
As anticipated it has snowed overnight and is snowing now. We will be opening school for children of critical Key Workers. As we are not sure what the next couple of hours will bring it would be helpful if you could send your child with a packed lunch in case kitchen staff don't make it in. If your child is booked in but you are not intending to send your child please let us know as this is helpful in case we need to reoragnise groupings.

Tuesday 2nd February

SNOW!!! School is open to children of critical keyworkers and vulnerable children .Please bring a packed lunch.

Tuesday 19th January

Sheffield City Council have sent this letter out for the attention of all parents and carers. Letter
We know that the vast majority of children who are currently coming into school are here because there is no other option; these times are challenging for everyone and we appreciate the efforts made by everyone to limit the days in school to as few as possible. If there are changes to your working pattern and you do not require your child to be in school as you had initially requested then please let us know.  We also know that many of you are managing these difficult circumstances at home to support the whole community; thank you everyone.

Friday 15th January 2021

School is open for those children who have booked a Keyworker place. Please send your child with a packed lunch as kitchen staff may not make it into school. Breakfast Club and After School Club will be open as usual; please collect your child from ASC as early as possible to enable staff to get home safely.

Thursday 14th January 2021

Snow - school will remain open but if you wish to collect your child early you may.

 Monday 11th January 2021

Key worker places have been allocated and information has been sent out.  Please see the News Page for further info.

Monday 4th January 2021

This information was sent out via email to all parents this evening:-

To all parents,

You will no doubt have heard that, as of midnight tonight, we are unfortunately in a National Lockdown once again.  All schools in England are closed for all children with the exception of key worker and vulnerable children.

I am therefore asking that you only bring your child to school tomorrow if you need childcare due to being a critical Key Worker or if your child is considered vulnerable. We have not yet received any guidance in terms of group sizes etc so will need to spend some time gathering information from all parents and organising bubbles to implement for the next 6 weeks. If you are not sure whether you qualify as a critical Keyworker then more information can be found by following this link.

Government - Keyworker Information

Please could we request that...

  • If you are a Key worker and you need childcare tomorrow, please bring your child to school at their usual time to the usual place.
  • If you are a Key worker but do not need childcare tomorrow please keep your child at home and look out for the survey asking which days you will need childcare.
  • If you are not a Key Worker then please keep your child at home and we will send further information out to you about home learning soon; please bear with us whilst we put together a workable plan as this has happened at such short notice.

I will send a survey out to you all to complete so we can gauge the need for places in the longer term.
