Headteacher's Welcome

It has been a super week in school this week. The Year 2 children have been really busy!

They impressed their parents with their fabulous Leaver's Performance on Tuesday and Wednesday and then had an amazing day out at Forge Dam which included a walk, lots of playing with their friends, a picnic and of course...an ice cream (thank you PTA!) The children really did have a super time. They were so well behaved and we were very proud of all of them.

WELL DONE Y2!

Parent Survey

Thanks to those of you who have completed the Parent Survey. This will remain open until 9:00 on Monday morning. Please spend a few minutes sharing your views about our school - thank you!

Arts Week and Open Evening

Next week is Arts Week! There are lots of fabulous activities planned for the children including an Under the Sea Workshop.

The Reception and Year 1 children will be spending time in their new September classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday which will give them the opportunity to meet their new teachers and work alongside the children in their new class. Caterpillars children who are moving to Reception will also have chance to spend some time with their new teachers. In previous years we have found that this has been a really good opportunity for children to enable them to end the term feeling happy and and confident about their new class.

Children should arrive every day as usual and will be registered in their current classes.

The Y2 children will be visiting NGJS on Monday morning to spend time in their new classes and then will be in the Reception classes doing their Arts activities.

Open Evening - Thursday 6th July 3:30 - 5:30pm

Parents are welcome to come into school from the end of the school day until 5:00pm. This is an opportunity to have a look at some of the wonderful art work that has been produced. Your child will also be able to take you to their new classroom and  you will be able to meet their new teacher too.

Extra Curricular Clubs - Autumn Term

Clubs go live at 7:00pm on Tuesday 7th July. Clubs are open to children in Year 1 and Year 2 only in the first term whilst the Reception children settle in (ASC is available).

Please talk to your child about which club they would like to to do.  Refunds will not be given.

Please note:-

  • Clubs start in week commencing 7th September (week 2)
  • There is no choir until 17th September (week 3)

*PTA HELP URGENTLY NEEDED*

A quick follow-up to our appeals over the last few weeks! We’re still looking for volunteers to:

  • help with our pre-loved uniform sales
  • and a treasurer (volunteer now and get a handy handover!)

The PTA does so much to support the school and create memorable experiences for the children, and we’d love to keep that going. Like many school PTAs, we rely on a small group of core members, and at the end of this school year, 2 of our 6 core members will be moving on. So, we’re keen to welcome some new people to our team.

The commitment is manageable and flexible. Attending a Tuesday evening meeting (19:45 after dinner, bath and bed!) every couple of months is the main requirement. Tasks can be shared and fitted around work, family and other commitments. We are all working mums ourselves and support one another. We’re always happy to step in when someone has more on their plate than usual. A small contribution of time from several people goes such a long way.

If you feel you could take on a small but regular role within the PTA or would simply like to find out more before committing, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you – nethergreeninfantschoolpta@gmail.com
