Headteacher's Welcome It has been a such a fantastic term in school! The children have all settled brilliantly into their new classes and it has been amazing to see the progress they have made already - well done everyone! Big thanks to all my amazing staff who have definitely earned themselves a week off next week! It was lovely this week to see the Musical Theatre and Street Dance After School Clubs perform to parents at the end of their sessions - the children showed such confidence and most importantly looked like they were having so much fun!! Thanks so much for all the brilliant bakes donated for today's cake sale. There were a lot of very happy faces in school!
Hopefully all those who signed up for the Pumpkin Trail maps have now received them. Pumpkins and clues will be out from 4pm-6pm on Sat 28th and Sun 29th - with a small treat for all those who complete them! Good luck and have fun!

And finally (for now) the next PTA meeting is on Thursday 9th November at The Florentine. It was lovely to see some new faces there last time so please do pop along if you want to find out more, meet some other parents or just fancy getting out for a bit! Every little helps. We have lots of exciting pre-Christmas plans already which we'll share ASAP - as well as an update on the sensory garden!

Notes from the Teachers Year 2 Maths Talk It was great to welcome so many Y2 parents into school this week to talk about how Maths is taught in Y2. We hope you found it useful. For those who were unable to attend, a copy of the talk can be found on the curriculum page. We really value your feedback - if you would like to email any comments in about the talk we would love to hear from you. Messages for Teachers We know for parents there can be quick questions you want to ask teachers, or things you want to mention and that once children get into Year 1 & 2 there are fewer opportunities to do this. We are happy for you to email class teachers but know that sometimes a quick face to face conversation can be easier - teachers are more than happy to have a quick chat once they have handed children over safely to parents at the end of the school day. The class email is the name of the class as follows e.g. bears@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk, etc |

Dates for the Diary Please see attached the Parent Calendar for this year. Please take a few minutes to take note of dates including INSET and holiday dates, Parents' Evenings, Parent workshops to find out about learning in school and performances. Notes about the calendar: 'Fourth Friday' - every 4th Friday that the children are in school parents will be invited into classrooms from when they open at 8:40am until when the bell rings at 8:55am (we have changed this from 'First Friday' due to diary clashes). Initially this will just be Y1 and Y2 classes whilst the new Reception children settle.
