Nether Green Infant School has an admission number of 75.

Sheffield City Council is the Admissions Authority for our school.

How to apply for a place in our school

All applications for a Reception class place have to be made to the Sheffield City Council Primary Admissions Team. Information can be found on the Sheffield City Council website or phone 0114 2735766.

If you do not complete a form, apply on line or over the telephone you will not be offered a place at a Sheffield School. Places are not 'reserved'  at your catchment area school.

For a place in 2019/2020 applications need to be made by 15th January 2019. The offer date is 16th April 2019

When does your child need to start school?

Child born between 1.9.14 and 31.8.15 start in the school year 2019/2020

What if the school is oversubscribed?

Any child who has an Education Health Care Plan or statement of Special Educational Needs that names a specific school must be offered a place there.

If more applications are received than there are places the Admissions Authority will prioritise places in the following order:

1. Children in Care or Previously in Care

2. Catchment Area with Sibling

3. Catchment Area

4. Siblings of children refused a place at their catchment school

5. Siblings

6. Other applications

School Catchment Area

Our catchment area spreads from Broomhill to the outskirts of Lodge Moor.

We have a large map in our school entrance showing our catchment area. We also have a list of roads, streets etc which are in our catchment area.

If you are looking for the nearest school to you the Department for Education has a useful website

Transfer to Junior School

The majority of our children move on to Nether Green Junior School at the end of Year 2. Nether Green Infant School and Broomhill Infant School  have linked feeder status to Nether Green Junior School. Designated feeder status does not guarantee admission to Nether Green Junior School at the point of transfer to Year 3. If all parents in the two schools apply for the Junior School a maximum of 115 linked applications could be received at the transfer to Year 3. There are only 90 places available at Nether Green Junior School.

In the event of oversubscription from pupils who attend Nether Green Infant and Broomhill Infant Schools, the Local Authority offers Year 3 places in the following priority order:

1. Children in Care or previously in Care

2. Children resident in the Nether Green catchment area who have siblings at Nether Green Infant or Broomhill Infant Schools

3. Children resident in Nether Green catchment area

4. Children who do not live in the Nether Green catchment area but who will have a sibling attending Nether Green Infant or Junior or Broomhill Infant Schools.

5. All other applications.
