Headteacher's Welcome

Our children have been showing off their musical talents this week. The Choir amazed their audiences with their performance of The Pied Piper - it was brilliant!!! Well done to all our fabulous Y1 and Y2 children who told the story so beautifully through narrations and songs.

This morning some of our Y2 children performed a collection of Recorder pieces that they had been learning to their parents. They showed great musicality and skill - well done !

Parent Survey

It is that time of year again when we ask parents to reflect on the full year in school and let us know what you feel is going well and share any suggestions for how we could make things even better.

We will send the link out to you via email next week.

Summer Fair - Thank you!

A hue thank you from me to all the Parents, staff and other volunteers who helped to make the Summer Fayre AMAZING for the children and families last week. It was such a lovely, family event which was enjoyed by so many.

We don't underestimate how much time, energy and very careful planning goes into these events and we really do appreciate all the support. The money raised will help us to continue to make improvements  to our school environment - we hoping to invest in some new furniture for some of the classrooms. Your support really does impact the children directly - THANK YOU!

We have a number of our fabulous PTA members who are leaving us as their children move on - we will really need some more support next year if we want these events to continue. You don't have to make a huge commitment - every little helps and every little bit makes a difference to our children.

Promoting Immunisations

We have been asked to share the following information to support the promotion of childhood vaccination uptake across Sheffield.

Some children and young people may not be up to date with the current national immunisation programme. The School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) provides regular drop-in clinics across Sheffield, offering parents and carers a convenient way to access vaccinations.
We would be grateful if you could support this by promoting the service within your school community, for example, by:
  • Sharing information with parents and carers
  • Including details in newsletters or school communications
  • Signposting families to the available drop-in clinics
Further information about the service, including clinic locations and times, can be found here:

We hope everyone who was able to come to the farm-themed Summer Fair last Friday had lots of fun and enjoyed the BBQ, treats and games!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the biggest event of the year such a success – from donating prizes and securing donations from local businesses, to giving up time to prepare and set up, and to those who ran the stalls and games on the day. Thank you to everyone who came along, spent generously and helped create such a fantastic atmosphere. The Fair couldn’t have happened without you! Particular thanks to:

The Eye Place in Dore and Bakewell

Harrington’s Butchers in Hathersage

Peak Fruit at Lodge Moor and Hathersage

Eurosafe UK

Please do support these very generous local businesses if you can!

We’re still finalising the accounts, but it looks like we’ve raised almost £3,000 for our lovely school, which is incredible for just one afternoon!

We’re taking a short break now but will share an update on upcoming PTA events and projects for the new school year soon. In the meantime, enjoy this glorious warm weather!

I’m asking children about the things they enjoy, the challenges they face, the changes they want to see in their communities, and what they think a good childhood should look like today."
