Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome back! It is hard to believe it is the summer term already. This term is always a busy one with trips out of school, performances, Arts Week and planning the transition for September.

Please take a few minutes to have a look at the calendar to ensure you have all the important dates already in your diary.

You may have noticed that our new Sensory Garden is now ready for the children to use. The school council met this week and talked about expectations for the garden and how it will be organised. They decided that whilst it's new, a timetable for each day would be the fairest way to ensure every class gets the opportunity to use it, so this will be displayed on the gate. We will be having an assembly on Monday to explain the expectations and also talk about some new activities that will be taking place at lunchtimes, supported by our newly trained Y2 'Little Leaders'.

Huge thanks to our fabulous PTA for creating this wonderful space for our children.

The PTA will be meeting next TUESDAY 23RD APRIL at 7.45pm at the Florentine to agree and plan this term's events. We'd love to see some new faces, especially as a number of us will be moving up to Juniors after the Summer. We promise you can be involved as little or as much as you like and it really is a great way to get to know and help the school, the kids and other parents.
In the meantime, here are a few key dates for this term:
NEXT FRIDAY 26TH APRIL - PTA UNIFORM SALE
Next Friday morning at drop-off we'll be hosting another second hand uniform sale - hopefully good timing if you need to pick up any summer stuff. As usual, it'll be cash donations - or we have the card machine now.
THURSDAY 16TH MAY - SCHOOL DISCO
We're pleased to report the date is set and the DJ booked - Sparky Marky will be whipping the kids into a dancing frenzy in just a few weeks time!
Permissions and payment via ParentPay. Full details will be shared nearer the time.
FRIDAY 21ST JUNE - SUMMER FAIR
Planning is also already underway for our BIGGEST event of the year - the NGIS PTA SUMMER FAIR!
We'll be sharing details over the next few weeks alongside a few (little) asks - plus we'd massively welcome all offers of help to staff stalls on the day.
So please pop the date in your diaries and get ready to have lots of family fun!

A huge thanks to our PTA for fundraising, planning and helping to create our fabulous new garden area.  A HUGE Thank You everyone for your support!

Piano Lessons

Pav currently has 2 spaces for piano lessons in school. If anyone is interested in having piano lessons please contact him via: pav_main@yahoo.co.uk.

Slapped Cheek Syndrome

We have had a number of cases of Slapped Cheek Syndrome in school this week. The guidance states that as long as your child is well in themselves they can attend school. However, please be aware that this can cause a risk for pregnant women.  Following the cases of Scarlet Fever last half term we would advise you to contact a doctor to confirm that your child has Slapped Cheek rather than Scarlet Fever as the symptoms can be similar. Please notify the school office if your child has either condition so we can monitor cases and keep a record in school.
