Headteacher's Welcome This week the children in Year 1 and Year 2 have been reading the story of the Rainbow Fish and thinking about sharing and kindness. Each classroom has a large picture of the Rainbow Fish and children who have been spotted showing an act of kindness in school have been give a special scale to put onto the fish. In Reception the children have been reading 'The Colour Monster' and thinking about feelings and emotions; the story encourages children to match colours to emotions and teachers have been encouraging children to talk about their feelings. It is always useful to have a common language to use when talking to children and this term we have been talking about our school rules in assemblies and classrooms. I thought it would be useful for us to share our Whole School Rules with parents. The vast majority of children try their best at all times to make the right choices in school, however there have been occasions this week when we have had to talk to some children about the importance of following our rules in order to make our school a happy place for everyone. This has included appropriate play in the playground (not rough) and also respecting property in school (a number of toys have been carelessly broken in After School Club). These are our school rules. Please spend a few minutes talking to your child about our rules to help them to understand what they mean and their importance.
Turtles class have made a video of the Rainbow Fish which you can see on their class page. |
