PTA

Our PTA (Parent Teacher Association) put on lots of events for children and parents/carers and raise lots of funds for the school.

It's so hard to choose a cake at the Cake Sale....they all look so yummy! Thank you everyone who brought in cakes, we loved them!

PTA Chair's report to the AGM, October 2016 included:

Many thanks for taking the time to read this report. The Treasurer will provide a detailed report regarding funds but I am very pleased to say once again we have had a busy and successful year raising much needed monies for our school and charities such as Meningtitis Now and Sheffield Children's Hospital. In total we have raised approximately £10,000 after expenses for the school.

A change for the committee in the last year has been Alex Leckie stepping down as chair and Nicola Pigott and Jo Rockliff being elected as joint chair.

After three years of fundraising we reached our target and purchased additional playground equipment.

 

Lots of great events have taken place over the last year, with opportunities to combine socialising within the school community and fundraising at the same time. Our coffee, cake and recycled uniform sale after morning drop offs, for parents and pre-school siblings continue to be really busy, linking in with charity events where appropriate.

A new event last year the Easter sponsored read, which the children enjoyed. There were prizes for the winner in each class and the event raised £1,000.

Other events and activities included:

  • Cake sales
  • Discos
  • Refreshments before year group plays and concerts
  • Christmas and Summer Fairs
  • Sponsored bounce
  • Family film nights
  • Quiz night for parents and carers
  • Christmas cards and mugs designed by the children

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their hard work, time and effort in supporting our school's PTA, including all the school staff who are integral to the smooth running of our events and helping us raise important funds which benefits all our children. I hope we have another successful and fun year.
