Our PTA (Parent Teacher Association) put on lots of events for children and parents/carers and raise lots of funds for the school.

It's so hard to choose a cake at the Cake Sale....they all look so yummy! Thank you everyone who brought in cakes, we loved them!

The Committee

The PTA has many members who co-ordinate different events such as discos, cake sales, Fairs etc.,

but the core committee members are as follows:

Chair: Alice Deasy

Treasurer: Liz Seymour

Secretaries: Viral Vyas and Lucie Waterhouse

Teacher rep: Tracy Bagshaw

Other key members: Hannah Parsons, Fran Allen, Georgina Naylor, Millie Gaum, Kevin Kuykendall,

many more help with putting on events.

The PTA can be contacted via their Facebook page or the school office.

How you can get involved!

Some people may find the idea of joining the PTA a bit daunting, but please be assured we are a very

friendly and inclusive bunch who just want to raise funds for the school!

Committee meetings take place at school approximately every half term and are relaxed and informal.

You do not need to come to all/any meetings to be part of the PTA however. You are very welcome to

join up to our email list which we use to let PTA members know about upcoming events and to ask for

volunteers to help run them.

If there is an event you would like to help with, we would love you to get involved, but there is

absolutely no pressure. The more help we have, the more funds we can raise and it is a great way to

get to know other parents.

PTA Chair's report to the AGM, October 2017 included:

Hello everyone,

Many thanks for taking the time to read this report. The Treasurer will provide a detailed

report regarding funds but I am very pleased to say once again we have had a busy and

successful year raising much needed monies for our school. In total we have raised

approximately £10,000 pounds.

Lots of great events have taken place over the last year, with opportunities to combine

socializing within the school community and fundraising at the same time. Our coffee, cake

and recycled uniform sales after morning drop offs, for parents and preschool siblings

continues to be really busy, linking in with charity events where appropriate.

Our two cake sales continue to be very successful (especially with the children!), and we are

always very grateful for the amazing array of cakes and biscuits kindly donated by parents.

The Christmas disco and summer discos were both hosted by Sparky Marky and were

greatly enjoyed by the children and helpers! We have continued to ask for a small voluntary

contribution on entry to these to try to recoup some of our costs of the DJ.

At Easter we ran the sponsored read again, which the children enjoyed.

As usual our Christmas and summer fairs were the biggest fund raisers, with a wide variety

of stalls, activities, entertainment, raffles and food/refreshments, these require a large

number of parent volunteers on the day to help them run smoothly and we are always very

grateful for everyone’s time.

The sponsored bounce continues to be hugely popular for the children and very successful.

Every child receives a certificate for participating. Family film nights look set to be a

permanent fixture, our children seem to thoroughly enjoy returning to school in the evening

with their PJs and beanbags to enjoy some fun with their friends. Tickets to this event sell

fast! We repeated the Quiz night this year, tickets included a fish and chip supper! We split

into teams to answer various questions and the winning team received the school Quiz night

trophy and a prize! This event was very successful this year and we hope to run again next

We had two new events this year. A local treasure hunt/quiz which ran during the spring

bank break. It was a brilliant idea with interesting questions. Local shops sponsored

questions linked to their business. The second new event was a coin trail challenge. The idea

of this was not only to raise money but to help the children become more familiars with

coins. It was a great success on many levels and it raised £530.

We have had amazing support from The Co-Op at Fulwood donating a massive amount of

things ranging from 300 bread rolls to a raffle prize. We have also become one of the

charities linked to the Co-Op membership card.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their hard work, time and

effort in supporting our school’s PTA, including all the school staff who are integral to the

smooth running of our events, These all help to enable us to raise important funds which

buy much needed items for the school which benefit all our children. I hope we have

another very successful and fun year, we will be continuing to raise funds for further

improvements to the playground.

Finally, I will be stepping down at this AGM as I no longer have children in this school. I

have thoroughly enjoyed taking on this role for the last 2 years and have enjoyed working

with a fantastic and committed team. Many thanks to you all for your hard work and
